About the Property and Maintenance Team

At Skibo Castle, our Property Maintenance team plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional experience for our members and guests. Their expertise ensures the seamless operation of the Club through the ongoing maintenance and preservation of buildings and amenities across our breathtaking 8,000-acre estate. From the historic foundations of Skibo Castle, dating back to the 1200s, to sensitively restored landmarks such as the swimming pool and Equestrian Centre, and the modern functionality of contemporary additions like the Clubhouse, the team is entrusted with the care and upkeep of some of the estate’s most iconic and essential spaces.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will:

  • Carry out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across the Club’s property portfolio, ensuring all facilities are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Coordinate work schedules with the Property Coordinator and guest service departments to minimise disruption for members and guests.
  • Work to a shift pattern that includes late shifts and one weekend in four; when on back shift, provide on-call support for any business-critical emergencies.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues, fault finding, and urgent repairs as required.
  • Deliver practical, cost-effective solutions while maintaining the quality and presentation standards expected at the Club.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external contractors, providing support and guidance to apprentices or junior team members when required.

About You

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a general trade, maintenance, or construction environment, ideally within a hospitality, facilities, or estate setting.
  • Broad practical skills and an adaptable approach to varied maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Dependable, organised, and conscientious, with a strong sense of pride in your work.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team, using initiative to solve problems effectively.
  • Skilled at prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Physically capable - comfortable with lifting, working from heights, and adapting to different working environments.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices; first aid certification desirable.
  • IT literate, with basic proficiency in Microsoft Office for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence.
