Children at Skibo
- Families are a central part of The Carnegie Club, with children of all ages visiting Skibo throughout the year.
- The Children’s Barn is the base of all children’s activities, but it only makes up a small part of the fun to be had at Skibo. For our youngest members, the 8,000-acre Highland estate serves as a playground itself, allowing our childcare team to lead experiences both indoor and outdoor that create memories to last a lifetime!
- Our Children's Barn team leads daily supervised activities across our estate for our younger members to enjoy, from bushcraft to baking, painting to canoeing, and swimming to treasure hunts.
- During school holidays, the Children’s Barn team plays an integral role in providing a wide array of special events for members and guests to experience as a family.
- Each evening, babysitting is offered to families, giving parents a chance to relax and enjoy dinner with other members, safe in the knowledge that their little ones are being cared for by our friendly and professional babysitters.
About the role
- We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring individual to join our Playbarn team on a casual basis.
- This role is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children.
- Our Children’s Barn team enjoys a unique opportunity to experience the Skibo estate alongside our youngest members and to collaborate with colleagues from across the Club's departments, all while creating joyful and memorable experiences for children.
- Every day is different for the Children’s Barn team, who adapt the daily activities to suit the many different age groups and individual needs of the children that visit us throughout the year. Central to the Club’s ethos is creating personalised magical moments for our members and guests, and this extends to children at Skibo!
- As part of the Children's Barn team, you’ll help plan, organise, and put together unique exciting experiences whilst maintaining the children's safety as your number one priority.
- Our Barn is open 7 days a week between 09:00 and 17:30, so you may be offered shifts on weekdays, weekends and during holiday periods.

- You’re able to communicate confidently with your team, other departments, members, and guests of the Club to ensure the smooth running of the childcare department.
- You can be patient while adding a creative and energetic flair to your interactions with children.
- You’re a responsible self-starter who goes beyond catering to the needs of our children to understand the Club ethos, foster inclusive staff culture, and maintain the hygiene and safety standards of the Children’s Barn.
