b'THE CARNEGIE CLUBD O N A L D R O S SDriverI grew up in Tain, a small town right on the Dornoch Firth, but I spent the first half of my career working in north Scotland near John OGroats. In 2004, I found a job at Skibo and Ive worked at the castle ever since, first as a butler and for the past six years in transport. Im responsible for driving members around the estate to their various activities, to and from the airport and wherever else they want to go. I really like getting to know the members each time they return, and they like to see the same faces at the castle too. Ive seen Skibo undergo many upgrades and improvements during my time here, including the kitchens, golf course and Clubhouse, lodges, swimming pool and the stables. I really enjoy the varied landscapes around Skibo and I love walking my dogs out in the forests or down on Dornoch beach.Z O E M A C K AY7 1 Stables supervisorI started working at Skibo straight from college, following a four-week work placement, and this is my 10th year at the castle. I work at the stables with our 12 gelding horses and we offer a wide range of activities, including pony rides for children; rides across the estate, in the local countryside and to Dornoch beach; show jumping and a cross country coursewere lucky enough to have 55 jumps around Skibo. The Carnegie Club is very encouraging and supportive when it comes to personal development and training. They want us to be the best that we can be at our jobs and help us work towards that. I worked for two seasons at the World Equestrian Festival in Palm Beach, Florida, which was an opportunity one of the members at the Club arranged for me. I also spend a lot of my time outside of work going to British Eventing competitions and this year I have qualified for the Scottish Championships at Blair Castle International Horse Trials in August. Im also working towards my stage four British Horse Society exams. One of my favourite things about working at the castle is getting to spend time outside, in beautiful scenery. The atmosphere at Skibo is magical, its such a special place. I also get to meet interesting and lovely people every single dayguests who come from all walks of life and with whom I am fortunate enough to form strong connections and friendships.'
